โšฝ Wanderers Weekly: Seven Cup Ties and a Full House ๐Ÿฆ

Count them: seven cup ties in a single weekend, from the Belmont bulls chasing their road to Edgar Street to the Eagles, Sharks, Falcons U12, Spartans, juniors and Hawks all with silverware in their sights. Add the Men’s First Team welcoming Ledbury Reserves off the back of seventeen goals in three games, the Ladies hosting Westfields, and nearly thirty fixtures spread across the club, and you have one of the fullest Saturdays and Sundays we have known this season. Grab a brew, wrap up for the drizzle, and let us walk through the lot together.

๐Ÿงฌ The Club DNA Report ๐Ÿงฌ

Belmont Wanderers has never been a club defined by one team or one result. Our identity lives in the badge across every age group, from the smallest boots learning to lose well to the seniors chasing promotion, and this week that shared character showed up loud and clear.

This week, our Attacking Prowess was the pillar that shone brightest. Sixteen from the U9 Lions, twelve from the Hammers, seven from the U15s and six from the bulls added up to a mountain of goals, with four hat-tricks in a single round of fixtures. That is not luck; that is players trusting the pass, running the channels and backing their finishing. When we move the ball quickly and share the load, very few sides in our leagues can live with us.

Defensively there is a solid base to build on, with two clean sheets and four Wall Awards recognising the courage of players stepping into unfamiliar roles, none more so than the Hawks’ outfield lads taking turns in goal. A heavy afternoon or two dragged the concession column up, but the honest work of learning together, as the Vipers are doing, is exactly how young defences grow. Meanwhile thirteen Player of the Match awards, six Playmaker nods, three Captain honours and a Sportsmanship award prove our player development and club values are ticking along beautifully. Keep believing in the process, Belmont: we play football the right way, we look after each other, and a club that does both is a club with no ceiling.

โ›ˆ๏ธ Weekend Weather Watch โ›ˆ๏ธ

  • Saturday: A spot of drizzle, highs of 21.8ยฐC and lows of 15.5ยฐC. Mild enough, just bring a coat for the touchline.
  • Sunday: Overcast, highs of 16.9ยฐC and lows of 10.8ยฐC. Cooler, so an extra layer for the little ones.

โšฝ This Weekend’s Action โšฝ

๐Ÿ’ก Team Spotlight

This week we turn the lights on our Belmont U8 Raiders, led by coach Chris Tipping. The squad is Patrick, Casper, Isabella, Igor, Tymon, David, Bobby, Theo, Lucas, Albie, Aleksander, JASON, Arthur, Lewis and Toby. They faced a mountain last weekend and kept smiling all the way through it, which tells you everything about the character Chris is building. Go and give them a cheer as they take on Toros this Saturday.

A Big Belmont Welcome

Please give a huge Belmont welcome to the newest members of our family: Tymoteusz (Belmont U10 Flames), Harper (U9 Belmont Bells Girls), Anthony-John (Belmont Wanderers Hawks u12) and Max (Belmont Wanderers Hawks u12). We are thrilled to have you with us, and something tells us the Hawks will be glad of the reinforcements.

โœจ Last Week’s Highlights โœจ

Belmont Wanderers U15 vs Ross Juniors U15 (Won 4-2)

Missing bodies and three weeks without training, yet the U15s still found a way to be clinical when it mattered. Games like this, scrappy and awkward, are the ones that separate a good side from a promotion side. Player of the Match: Charlie.

Belmont Falcons U12 vs Ledbury FC Youth U12 Rovers (Lost 0-2)

The scoreline stung, but the sharp one-two football that arrived late in the first half is the seed of something good. Heads stayed high and the fight never dropped, which is exactly the platform to build the next result on. Player of the Match: Max.

Belmont wanderers sharks vs Belmont Wanderers U12 Eagles (Lost 0-3)

A cruel finish, with the Sharks bright for large spells before conceding three in the final ten minutes. Their keeper was outstanding and desperately unlucky, and there is real football in this group waiting to be rewarded.

Belmont Hammers vs Hereford Lads Club Youth U14 Bulldogs (Won 12-0)

Twelve goals of slick, compact, pass-and-move football, capped by a 25-yard thunderbolt that had the bench celebrating before it landed. The Hammers are humming, and this was as complete a team display as you will see at this age group.

Belmont Wanderers U15 vs Tenbury United Youth U15 Tigers (Won 7-1)

Three games, three wins, and a fast start that blew away a stubborn five-at-the-back setup. The response after conceding showed a group that simply wants more, and the momentum is very real. Player of the Match: Dylan.

Belmont Wanderers U10 Vipers vs Ross Juniors FC U10 (Lost 1-10)

A tough afternoon on paper, but a brand-new side growing louder, braver and more connected by the week. Isla’s first goal for the Vipers was the perfect reward, and there are clear signs of progress arriving. Player of the Match: Nancy.

Belmont U14 Boys vs Ludlow Town FC U14 Knights (Won 3-0)

After a bumpy pre-season, the U14 boys opened their campaign with patience, a screamer from left-back Ethan and a clinical finish from Leo. Exactly the calm, controlled start the coaches asked for, and a lovely platform for the season. Player of the Match: Ethan.

Belmont Wanderers U9 Lions vs Ludlow Town FC U9 Lions (Won 16-1)

Sixteen goals of joyful, unstoppable link-up play, with the runs and passing at their very best. The Lions are three from three and playing football that is a genuine joy to watch. Player of the Match: Theo.

Belmont U10 Flames vs Wessington Juniors U10 Raptors (Drew 1-1)

Kevin’s early strike and a string of vital saves at the other end kept the Flames unbeaten. It would not click going forward on the day, but a never-say-die attitude and a rock-solid Jacob at the back mean the points column keeps ticking. Player of the Match: Mihai.

Belmont Falcons u11 vs FC Phoenix U11 Fire (Drew 1-1)

A hard-earned point against a slick passing side, with Reggie finishing Otis’s lovely ball to give Belmont the lead. A late deflection levelled it, but a draw was a fair reflection of a resilient, well-organised shift. Player of the Match: Anthony-john.

Belmont Wanderers U8s vs Toros FC U8 Origins (Won 3-2)

Two from two to start the campaign, and it could have been far more but for an opposing keeper in inspired form. The boys battled to the whistle and played some smashing football along the way. Player of the Match: Jack.

Belmont bulls vs Hereford Lads Club Youth U10 Thunder (Won 6-1)

Haiden’s hat-trick led a second-half masterclass, including a six-second end-to-end team goal the coach ranks among the best he has seen. Two wins from two, and now the cup beckons: can the bulls do the double? Player of the Match: Haiden.

Belmont U8 Raiders vs Leominster Town U8 Lightning (Lost 0-17)

A stronger, more physical opponent got the better of the scoreboard, but not the spirit. The Raiders kept smiling, kept battling and grew into the game, and at this age learning to lose well is a lesson worth its weight in gold. Player of the Match: Lewis.

โญ Standout of the Week โญ

Step forward Thomas (Belmont Wanderers U15), this week’s Standout with two awards and a cracking +100 points. A ’10 Goals’ milestone and a ‘Hat-trick Hero’ honour in the same week is a rich return, and a big part of why the U15s are flying. Take a bow, Thomas.

Belmont U8 Raiders vs Toros FC U8 Toffees (Sat 09:30): A fresh start for the Raiders after a bruising week, and exactly the fixture to bounce back in. Chris Tipping’s group keep smiling and keep learning, and every one-on-one battle won is a step forward. Go and back them loudly.

Belmont Wanderers U9 Lions vs Tenbury United Youth U9 (Sat 10:45): Three from three and a staggering 26 goals scored, the Lions are the talk of the club. Theo and the boys are irresistible in full flow. Tenbury are warned: this attack does not stop.

Belmont Tornadoes U9s vs Shobdon Colts U9 (Sat 10:45): The Tornadoes host Shobdon in what should be a lively morning. Watch for Reuben, brother of Bullets’ star Kallie, and Chibugo, whose sibling Kaobimjidenna features for the U8s. A real family affair.

Belmont bulls vs Tupsley Girls U11 Trailblazers (Sat 12:00) ๐Ÿ†: Cup football, and the bulls could not be in better nick after a 6-1 romp. Coach Peter Pusharski, whose own child is in action this weekend, will want another fast finish. The road to Edgar Street starts here.

Belmont U10 Flames vs Toros FC U10 Santos (Sat 12:00) ๐Ÿ†: Unbeaten and full of never-say-die spirit, the Flames step into the cup with confidence. If they can find the fluency to match their fight, they will take some stopping. A big morning at HQ.

Belmont Falcons U12 vs Wellington Youth U12 Blue (Sun 10:30) ๐Ÿ†: The Falcons U12 head into the cup determined to turn good football into a good result. The late-first-half spark against Ledbury shows what they can do. A win here would kick-start the season nicely.

Spartans vs FC Phoenix U13 Rovers (Sun 12:00) ๐Ÿ†: The Spartans open their cup campaign against Phoenix Rovers in what should be a tightly contested tie. Knockout football has a habit of bringing the best out of these boys. Get behind them.

Belmont juniors vs Hinton Youth U14 (Sun 12:00) ๐Ÿ†: Cup football for the juniors, led by coach Liam Beavan, whose own child also plays this weekend. A chance to make a memory in the knockouts. Expect heart, effort and plenty of noise.

Belmont U14 Boys vs Ledbury FC Youth U14 Rovers (Sun 12:00): After a composed 3-0 opener, the U14 boys face the tough away-style test the coach flagged as crucial. Ethan’s screamer and Leo’s finish set the tone, and narrow margins are the name of the game now. A big early-season marker awaits.

Belmont Hammers vs Westfields Youth U14 (Sun 12:00): Three wins, eighteen scored and coming off a stunning twelve-goal display, the Hammers are in dreamland. Keep an eye on Freya, one of two Freyas across the Bullets and Hammers this weekend. If the passing keeps clicking, Westfields will have their work cut out.

Belmont Wanderers U15 vs Toros FC U15 (Sun 14:00): Three from three and playing with real swagger, the U15s aim to keep the perfect record intact. Thomas is banging in goals for fun and Charlie has been superb. This one has all the makings of a statement performance.

Belmont colts u16 boys vs Ludlow Town FC U16 First (Sun 14:00): A tough run of results means the colts, led by Jason Baginski, are hungry to turn a corner. Brothers Riley and Finley feature, alongside their Bullets sister Lacey elsewhere in the club. A big response is brewing, and this squad has too much spirit to stay down for long.

Belmont wanderers under 16s boys vs Hereford Lads Club Youth U16 Phoenix (Sun 14:00): Three wins, twenty goals and flying high, Michael Prosser’s under 16s are in superb shape, with the coach’s own child among those in action. Sebastian, brother of U11s’ Alex, will be looking to add to the tally. Free-scoring football expected.

U9 Belmont Bells Girls vs Ledbury FC Youth U9 Girls (Sun 09:30): A warm welcome to new signing Harper as the Bells take on Ledbury. Every game at this age is another joyful step forward. Go and cheer these girls on.

Belmont Wanderers U10 Vipers vs Tupsley Girls U10 Lions (Sun 10:00): A young, developing side backed by sponsors RRA, the Vipers keep growing every week. Belmont Diamonds U13 girls vs Tupsley Girls U13 Tigers (Sun 09:30): The Diamonds look to open their account against Tupsley in what should be a spirited contest. Every outing builds this group’s belief. Get behind them for a big morning.

Belmont Cannons vs Westfields Youth U15 Girls Juniors (Sun 11:30): The Cannons face Westfields determined to translate their effort into a result. The fight has been there, and a first win would do this group the world of good. Roll on Sunday.

Belmont Bullets U14 Girls vs English Bicknor Youth U14 (Sun 10:00): Our runaway leaders, three from three with 28 goals scored and Player of the Month Kallie in unstoppable form. Sisters Mya, Lacey, Kallie and Freya all feature in a squad brimming with quality. Simply unmissable.

Belmont Wanderers Hawks u12 vs Kington Town Youth FC U12 (Sun 10:30) ๐Ÿ†: A cup tie and a fresh chance for the Hawks, who showed real fight and improvement last time out even with outfield players bravely taking turns in goal. New signings Max and Anthony-John add welcome strength. The arrow is pointing the right way.

As an individual we are strong, as a team we are brilliant, as a club we are unstoppable. We are Belmont Wanderers FC.

Warmest wishes,
