⚽ Wanderers Weekly: Bullets Bang In Seventeen 🦁
Seventeen goals in a single afternoon is the kind of scoreline you double-check before you believe it, and that is exactly what our U14 Girls served up this week. While the Men’s First Team keep their competitive run humming along, three wins deep with just one goal conceded, it was the Bullets who lit up the week with two hat-tricks and a performance that had the passing game flowing again. There is rain forecast and thunder rumbling in for the weekend, but nothing about the mood around Belmont feels grey right now, so pull up a seat and let’s get into it.
🧬 The Club DNA Report 🧬
Belmont Wanderers has always been a club that believes football is about more than the final whistle. It is about the badge, the bond and the belief we carry onto every pitch, week in and week out. That identity showed itself loudly this week.
This week our Attacking Prowess was quite simply irresistible. Seventeen goals in one fixture, two hat-tricks to savour and a forward line that refused to stop hunting: this is the front-foot football we want to be known for. When we move the ball with patience and purpose, as our attackers did once the passing game clicked, we are a joy to watch and a nightmare to defend against.
Defensively, the picture is one of honest lessons and real bright spots. A 12-goal afternoon against a quick, physical side stings, but a ‘Wall’ award and some outstanding shot-stopping prove the foundations and the character are firmly in place. What matters is the response, and the spirit in camp tells me the resolve is there. Our club philosophy has never wavered: we play with courage, we develop every player, and we lift each other whether the scoreboard is kind or cruel. Onward, together.

Belmont Wanderers Reserves vs Hinton Reserves (Sat 29th Aug, 14:30): The Reserves open their card against Hinton at home, and there is no better way to set the tone for the season than three points on our own patch. Bring the noise and the brollies in equal measure.
Belmont Wanderers Men’s First Team vs Kington Town Reserves (Sat 29th Aug, 14:30 & 15:00): Three wins, seventeen scored and just one conceded: the First Team’s competitive form has been imperious, and Kington Town Reserves arrive with a tall order in front of them. If our forwards keep firing like this, the faithful are in for a treat.
Belmont Bullets U14 Girls vs Ewyas Harold (Sun 30th Aug, 10:30): Fresh off a seventeen-goal statement, the Bullets face an Ewyas Harold side we know will be tougher to break down. It is the perfect test of whether that flowing passing game can be dialled up against organised opposition, and I fancy this group to relish it.
Belmont Hammers vs TBC (Sun 30th Aug, 12:00): The Hammers await their opponents but not their appetite, sitting on a draw and a defeat and hungry to put points on the board. Whoever lines up across from them, expect a spirited home showing.
Belmont U14 Boys vs Belmont Wanderers Hammers (Sun 30th Aug, 12:00): A proper Belmont family affair, with the U14 Boys and the Hammers going toe to toe. Bragging rights, big hearts and a guaranteed Wanderers winner: what more could you ask for on a Sunday?
Belmont Wanderers U15 vs Belmont Juniors U14 (Sun 30th Aug, 14:00): Unbeaten and free-scoring with sixteen goals and only four conceded, the U15s host the Juniors U14 in another all-Belmont clash.
